Roll Deep

I'll tell you mine.

I sort of think Titchy Strider, because it, it was good for, you know, what he did within Roll Deep and that, jumping on, saying a few lyrics, going off massively.

But when he sort of moved into the commercial space-

Mm

And I loved it.

I loved it.

I lo- back then, Roll Deep, still to this day, I love massively and just-

I'm loving the resurgence, bro, of Roll Deep, bro.

sec.

In their prime, Roll Deep only had Throwdown and Wiley, bro.

All them other ones, Scratchy O. Don't put that bro there with that.

Don't put that bro there with that.

So I'm talking about my era.

I'm telling you, in them dances, in their prime, when it's D-E-E, Kano, Sharky, Stormin, Hyper and Mac-10, that's the best grime crew that might have ever existed, bro.

Roll Deep, Page, no one ain't ready for them, bro.

No one's ready for nasty.

Decades later, the song achieved an unexpected resurrection.

In 2011, the prominent UK grime collective Roll Deep heavily sampled the track's distinctive chorus for their single The Avenue, which soared to number 11 on the UK charts, introducing a whole new generation to Lol Mason's 1982 melody.

Sadly, Lol Mason passed away on the 30th of July 2019 at the age of 69 in his home in Harborne, Birmingham.

And that is the story of the Maisonettes, a band that gave us one perfect, timeless pop jewel before vanishing down the very avenue they sang about.

shut the fuck up does write lyrics

Yeah, it's Shake a Leg by Roll Deep.

Good, good to know.

So what are the similarities then? Because your ADHD is kind of different.
