Roland TR-505

So in the mid eighties, my friend Kevin, who, who's a good guitar player and a singer, uh, we started playing with a drum machine and the drum machine was very, um, rudimentary and ridiculous.

It was like a Roland TR-505 or something like that.

But it had like a disco beat and it had a straightforward beat and you could speed it up like as much as you wanted.

So we were playing like a combination of like punk and disco and and funk music, just weird, weird rock music, a little bit like Oingo Boingo and Devo, a little like frenetic and crazy.
