... um, because I think there was a motivation, a financial motivation for her as well.

She wanted to have assets.

She wanted to have a home, and this was the way that she was gonna do it, because she couldn't work anymore, you know? She'd been let go at the abattoir.

She was collecting her little bit of money, um, and she lived in that tiny little drafty cottage, and she wanted something better for herself and her kids.

So, um, trying to persuade him, you know, "What about me? What about me?" And he just wouldn't budge, and that just grew into a real thorn for her.

And then of course, the triggers, now she's lit up by this anger, and then it becomes jealousy.

So what was the, what was the way you decided to set out to write the book, and how did you write the book?

Um, that's a great question.

Uh, because for me, um, telling a story, if you're gonna sit down and tell a story, I find that structuring it is the first thing you have to do, and over the years, I've learned the importance of structure and how you build tension in a story.

There's particular ways to do that.

So I approach most of my long form writing with the structure in mind and with the intent of building tension, um, and making the clear sort of plot points, you know, these beats in the story-
