There was KME-T, the legendary Mighty Met in L.A., and KLOS, a little more commercial, and then K-Rock started later, Rock of the 80s, which was really from the 70s, and Rodney Bingenheimer.

If you look at something like the Johnny Carson Tonight Show, had on any given night 20 million people that would be unheard of now because there weren't a thousand different streaming services and shows on and so what happened with so that's fine and it's good for the consumer in many ways if you don't mind buying a la carte subscriptions every month that add up but the what happened with music is it had a big voice after the kent state massacre several weeks later when Crosby, Stills, Nash, Young put out the song Ohio, everybody heard it because there were big voices and big audiences.

Local personality and DJ Rodney Bingenheimer, whom we've met before this season in connection to Joan Jett, helped spread the word and got them a deal with Chameleon Records, who released their next two US records, Stuck in Wanderama Land in 1989 and the 1990 EP Live at the China Club.

When Chameleon went bust in 1991, the label's larger backers, Elektra Records, stepped in to fund the completion and release of vinyl and promoted the dramas nationally, allowing them the opportunity of their first nationwide tour and first gig in the UK.

So perhaps the obstacles they faced during the recording did not feel much more than a temporary blip in their streak of good fortune that had taken them from a record shop in New Jersey to LA as full-time professional record releasing musicians.
