Rodinal

Put it in water and then you use it.

We used Rodinal, which is the cheapest industry developer.

And it's used for regular developments.

And it's a good developer, right? It's a very competent developer.

Well, like, you know, there are ways round it with the ISO dial, but it's easy just to hold it over.

Um, I developed it in some Rodinal, 1 to 50, and the negs look, um, the ones with the red filter, they look like you'd expect them to do.

You know, the sky has gone black, 'cause that film is based on something you mentioned last show.

Also das ist, ja, 'n günstiger Film, ein günstiger Entwickler.

Und dann haben wir das Ganze auch noch über eine, äh, völlig untypische Anzahl von Blenden gepullt.

Plus: Du, wir haben jetzt mit 'm Fomapan gearbeitet.

Das ist eigentlich 'n Film, der nicht grade eben für das zarteste Korn berühmt ist.

Wir haben mit Rodinal gearbeitet.

Das ist 'n Entwickler, wo man eher sagt: „Na ja, der ist, ähm, der ist 'n Schärfeentwickler, der macht eher knackig Korn."

I'm a big advocate of HC-110.

There's some other similar ones like Rodinol, which is a classic developer, and things like that that are highly concentrated with a very long shelf life that you mix it up in the moment, use it, throw it away.

Boom, you're good to go.

Which, as a side note, there's a lot of debate on what to do with photography chemicals, right? after you've used them.
