Um, My colleague Ray Fittipaldo from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette wrote a very good story today talking about situations from years past which have borne fruit for the Pittsburgh Steelers in terms of these contract negotiations, ones that worked out well.

And he talked about the holdout of then-rookie cornerback Rod Woodson in 1987.

And then he also talked about Darren Perry, who was the last player the Steelers signed in season.

I think that was in 1995. and interviewed both of those guys.

It's a good piece.

But Rod Woodson stands out to me for two reasons.

One, yes, Rod Woodson did have a holdout in his rookie year.

But Rod Woodson stands out to me for two reasons.

And the Cowboys are going to need that to change, and it needs to change this week, especially with Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson kind of barreling not only right through the gap, you know, those A gaps there, but also on the outside and the ability that they have to get things going.

It's interesting that people are looking at this scheme and you even had guys like Rod Woodson on radio shows here in Dallas say that – especially with a guy like Quinnen, just ask him where he wants to go.

Ask him where he wants to be and build around him.

Give Quinnen the opportunity to – be at his best, and that should make a fantastic defense.

I know this is a dream job for any broadcaster.

I mean, you're in the NFL, but you also get to call games with Rod Woodson and people of a certain age like me.

This is one of the greatest defensive backs of my youth.

How cool is that? Is that a pinch yourself moment?

He played a game in, uh, Super Bowl 30 against the Cowboys and f- made a play, wasn't even supposed to be out there.

Points to his knee like, "I'm back, baby."
