Rod Piazza

I was young, wide-eyed, and still trying to figure out what the blues music really meant beyond the records I'd been listening to.

And then Rod Piazza & the Mighty Flyers walked onto that Bluesfest stage.

They were electric.

A band with a swagger, a swing, and that unmistakable West Coast polish that I love so much.

Released on Seven Records back in 2004, Think About It wasn't the product of a young guitarist rushing to make his mark.

It was the work of a seasoned musician who'd already appeared on more than 35 releases over nearly 20 years.

Alex had played with William Clark, Rod Piazza, Lester Butler, Tad Robinson, Linwood Slim, and a who's who of blues royalty.

He'd been the side man and the secret weapon, the guy who made every band sound better.
