In those days, they sent me out to try and get – it was Greg – They had retired.

Then Rod Marsh was retiring as well, and it was going to be announced, I think, at the end of the day.

The rumour was they were all going to retire.

Those days, you can do it.

When they come off the field at tea, get Rod Marsh on camera saying, you know, if he's retiring or not.

Here I am, I'm 17, I don't know, down there with a camera crew, a microphone, because different stations could wander in there.

And he went over and talked to Jamie.

And then afterwards, Jamie, Rod Marsh came and said, what did he say to you? He said, oh, I want you to spin it.

I want you to be accurate first before you spin it.

And Rod said, what did you say to him? Oh, what do you think of that? He said, I think it's a lot of twaddle, mate.

Yeah, you and Trevor Chappell, I mean, have you spoken to him much? Have you been on speaking gigs together?

Yeah, the first 15, we had a 15 year anniversary over there, they organised one in Australia and Rod Marsh, or the late Rod Marsh and me were doing Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, so we did Sydney on the on the 31st of January, Melbourne on the 1st, and Brisbane on the 2nd, luncheons and that.

And Tony Greig, or late Tony Greig too, he was the MC.

And so we talked just, and that was all sort of talking about the whole last over, you know.

So I remember, hey, Shellen, she rang me.

And Rod Marsh had just passed away, it might have been the day before.

So something was online.

And I said, hey, I'm just – well, she rang me to tell me.
