Robyn Davidson

One of the most fascinating things about the movie Trax is that it's not based on a fictional screenplay.

It began as a real-life journey undertaken in 1977 by Australian writer Robin Davidson, and she crossed roughly 1,700 miles of the Australian desert with three camels and her dog.

The journey became a celebrated photo essay and article in National Geographic, and it was photographed by one of the characters in the movie, Rick Smolin.

and then evolved into Davidson's memoir, also titled Tracks.

And internationally, the film was carried through Paramount Pictures in certain markets and home distribution channels.

The movie starred Mia Wysikowska, I apologize if I mispronounce it, as Robin.

I went to Alice Springs, I guess when I was 23 or 24, and I had this crazy idea that I wanted to be in the deserts of my country.
