Now, bear in mind, Rick's son, Dax, is playing drums.

Robin Zander's son, Robin Taylor Zander, is playing guitar for them.

So they got five on stage.

Rick is MIA for song three.

So is a Yelp a falsetto, right? And then finally, another one that I love that is also kind of to bring things full circle and tie this in a red bow.

When I thought about doing this episode, I thought of that song One More from Cheap Trick's Rockford album, where Robin Zander is flipping back and forth between a pure Mick Jagger falsetto and his regular cool manly lower voice.

But the interesting thing about him, so here he is doing the sort of comedic humorous falsetto.

in kind of a funny song.

Mick Jagger, I think, is a good example of that.

And it can be used in a very scholarly, classic, you know, singerly, artistic way.

And that is, you know, these examples I've talked about, about Robin Zander.

But very often, like I say, David Bowie and Freddie Mercury.

Robin Zander's got one of the great lead vocal voices of all time.

As does, in an odd way, Bon Scott.

So he had this little circle of singers that he would use on different things.

Robin Zander was another one that kinda sang with the guys.

I know Robin sang on the Generation Swine record.

Mm-hmm.

I really wanted to do a song called she's tight, which is one of my favorite cheap trick songs.

And, uh, it just definitely didn't work without Robin Zander singing it.

It was, I sounded like an asshole.

And then, uh, and then, um, I wanted to do survivor, uh, Um, I can't hold back, which is one of my favorite survivor songs.

They wanted this blonde, lady-haired fellow who was in a, a folk duo called Zander & Kent.

But Robin Zander wasn't interested, so they were stuck with Xeno.

Barney, Bun E. Carlos was friends with Robin Zander, and eventually, fate worked its, its way into eliminating Xeno, and Robin Zander, he became the fourth and final member of Cheap Trick.

Now, Zander was born 1953 in Wisconsin.

He's our second hunk.

He moved to Illinois when he was a, a little Zander.

So he's, you know, he's a, he's a Rockford guy.

Underrated guitar player, Robin Zander.

And I was like, wow, what a great, what great guitar playing.

And it almost had that Billy Squire vibe with like these sweet backgrounds and a vocal almost like Robin Zander too.

That one's kind of a hidden gem.

Yeah.

And then I saw, it's called Kings of Chaos.

I saw Billy Gibbons again with the Kings of Chaos, which was a super band with Steve Stevens, Matt Sorum, and Robin Zander and shit.

And he was lame that night too.

We did an amazing interview, but he is really, really cool.

I've seen him five or six times now, and the first time was in Ardmore, Oklahoma, and he was the opening act for a show that was Billy Gibbons and Robin Zander from Cheap Trick.

But Billy's band was not his typical solo band for that show.
