[laughs] Who knows? But I said, "Oh, I'd, I'd take Otis," or, or, "I'd, I'd foster Otis." And they called me the next day.

And, uh, and I, and I went and saw him, 'cause I was looking for a dog.

Because my dog had just died a few months earlier, and my home was set up perfectly for a foster.

I didn't wanna have a, I wasn't ready to have a, a whole dog, like a, a situation that was permanent again.

Um, and I certainly wasn't ready for my, or wasn't aware that my whole life [laughs] would change and this part of animal advocacy would open up and just change everything.

So I went and saw him, and we looked at each other, and he's, he's a, a big, majestic, present, quiet dog, and he came right up to my face.

Yeah.

Can I ask what made your decision to focus on the breeding facilities?

Well, when I was in England, I visited John at Camp Eagle and became quite educated about the situation that was going on and just the fact that that's the place where it all starts.

I just think that I can really identify with the evil that's going on.

And as time goes on, like I want to be involved in not just that, that's just something that I am passionate about.

But I just feel like that's something, that's a massive thing that can be done.

And because he's from there, we'd like to assume that responsibility and do whatever we can.

But truthfully, you know, I often think to myself that I'm definitely not doing enough, because when you really, really start to feel empathy, like what happened with Ridgeland, where they just went in and said, you know, even though there's police, there's laws, this, but we really have to save these beings.

But I think you're already there because if you could walk into a prison and know that some of these people have committed crimes that, you know, are not something we want to think about, is that not the same thing a little bit?

They weren't just photographs because my dog happens to be just a really beautiful creature.

There was a deeper drive to that.

You know, I'd always gone into prisons and photographed the military telling a story of human beings healing and police officers.
