Robert Smigel

You're wearing a nice little hat.

I was with Robert Smigel, if I'm not mistaken.

I don't think so, because I would have remembered that.

Who was that with? I don't remember.

Maybe it was Robert Smigel, and I wasn't aware it was him.

Do you remember where I was sitting? And I'll tell you.

That's how it is.

I want to say you were sitting around the back.

Uh, Bob was one of those.

Robert Smigel was one of those.

Um, and, uh, and, and, and you see Bob there doing Manson.

Uh, he was just starting really to discover acting.

So I was a, a young writer in my 20s, and Bob Odenkirk had liked my sketch packet.

He, um, he actually helped me select seven sketches that of all the ones I'd written on the show he thought were my best.

He put the packet together, and then he gave it to, uh, Robert Smigel, who was at Saturday Night Live, and Conan O'Brien, who was starting his own, uh, talk show.

Conan liked my packet and called me and said, "I wanna hire you as a writer on my show." Just to give you the idea of the personal magnetism of Conan O'Brien, he got me so hyped up to be a writer on his show, to leave LA, come to New York, start on a new thing.

There's a lot of Knicks SNL, uh, connections.

Smigel, Sandler, huge, huge fans.

You know, Smigel was all over social media posting the videos of them watching the last game on the side of a building in New York City.

So who knows? Maybe we'll actually get a few, uh, good cameos here that would make sense, uh, to have with Brunson here and kinda carry the load.

And now, believe it or not, Byron Allen... like participates more like i don't know how much of it makes it to air because they edit it but he in the room he like like when you watch the tv show somebody even recently what's his name triumph the wonder the the insult comic dog he uh his uh the person who is his hand robert smigel recently just posted uh this guy's brilliant and it was just uh everything that uh byron said in one episode in a super cut that was only you know like a minute or two long but it just showed that in the 20 22 minute episode he only speaks for about two minutes of it he's he's the host Right.

And that's the key to a billion dollars.

I saw him recently.

I think he was with his daughter.

It's a sketch that I, uh, worked on with, I think, uh, well, well, Robert Smigel.

And he's nervous, it's his first day at a nude beach, and I think Robert Smigel is counseling him and saying, "You know, don't worry about it.
