Bob Strauss was a Texan.

He helped elect Jimmy Carter president, one of these really great personalities that far thing would go, but knew more about politics.

He was like the Jimmy Carville of today, but who knew everything about politics and was kind of a very special guy.

And that's how we negotiated, and that's how I learned to negotiate, and so on.
