Mm-hmm
18:19
... part.
18:21
So anytime your cell wants to do anything, if it wants to move like a macrophage, it wants to move like an amoeba, basically crawl from one area to another, it needs to expend energy to do so.
18:33
Um, if it wants to produce a hormone or, or a neurotransmitter, it needs to expend energy.
18:42
If it wants to metabolize or detoxify a substance, it needs to use energy.
18:48
If a muscle obviously contracts, it needs to use energy for that, and a brain or nerves, in order to send an impulse or signal, it needs to spend energy on that, and then it needs to spend energy on sucking up all the neurotransmitters that were released to stop the impulse.
19:05
So pretty much every cell in our body needs to expend energy to do anything.

Yes, please

Can you explain the linkages between long COVID and ME/CFS, and can you touch on some of the unique challenges that patients face with these conditions from your perspective, given that, you know, you've been there with your long COVID journey?
6:08
journey?Yes, I sure can.
6:11
And I'm currently in remission.
6:14
That's what I'm gonna call it.
6:15
I'm not gonna call it a cure.
6:16
I'm gonna call it a remission.
6:18
So one of the main differences between ME/CFS and long COVID is the diagnostic criteria.

Is there something patients can do themselves to re- reduce and bring down their inflammatory markers? It may not get rid of whatever they've got, but i- is there something people can do? Should they be taking some form of anti-inflammatory? Should they be eating, you know, a diet high in green vegetables that reduce inflammation? Is there something basic like that that can also help?
45:14
Epstein-Barr
45:15
absolutely can reactivate and remain activated and can cause problems and can drive ME-CFS.
45:22
But not every case of ME-CFS is caused by Epstein-Barr.
45:27
There's also cases caused by enterovirus, and there's cases that are caused by who knows.
45:34
There's no viral identified component, and yet the person still makes the diagnosis ME-CFS.
45:41
My point is that these same mechanisms are involved.
45:45
Maybe slightly in a different order, maybe we change which ones are the nodes, which ones are the amplifiers, but they're all there.

11 MINS LATER

56:42
But I know that I need to let you go soon, but can you just tell people about your long COVID handbooks? Cause I think you have a seven book series that goes deep on all your thinking, right? So people who are listening saying, wow, I want to, I want to hear more.
