Robert Fulghum

Let me kinda bring this to a close with a story.

[sighs] Robert Fulghum tells this story about a wedding that he once officiated as a pastor.

He said, "Usually a polite, reasonable, intelligent, and sane being, the mother of the bride was mentally unhinged by the announcement of her daughter's betrothal.

I don't mean she was unhappy, as is often the case.

But there's a lot more to do with being Christian than judgment or following rules.

Robert Fulghum, in his book Uh-Oh, once compared the difference between rules and living to the difference between a cookbook and the meal we actually eat, or a map and the journey we actually make.

And we might now add GPS or even AI.

All of them can help describe reality, but none is the same thing as living it.

In Jesus' name, amen.

It was 1988 that a man, Robert Fulghum, published a book with an unforgettable title.

And the title was All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten.

And most people remember the list of simple lessons.

And number 10.

All right.

Robert Fulghum wrote that down.

I, he's a creative writer, as I delve in a little bit about Robert.
