uh even the things that they did leading up to getting kawaii and george the zoo bots trade uh getting the chris paul trade even though like they were coming at that in a disadvantage i think they came out really in a good they come out of that really well uh what they got for blake griffin just overall, like, and then like, even though in the willingness to spend, I think really helped.

Like that Norman Powell, Robert Covington trade, that was just them willing to spend more money.

They didn't have to give up really anything of value other than helping the blazer save money.

So I think they have a good front office.

Clearly that didn't happen, but he still has those, he still has that mobility and those physical tools, obviously, and that grit.

What do you think about like a, they're aesthetically not the same player, but in terms of the things that they could do, maybe like a dollar tree, Robert Covington with regards to, you know, you have like a four who's kind of a three eventually became a really good three point shooter.

If this translates to the NBA and you're mentioning that he can be a good, he's a good rebounder as well.

I don't know.

I kind of like Robert Covington as a comp.

excellent points and i i think that you you you bring up something worth you know just kind of like parking and talking about for a second here is that i do agree with you like it's yet to be proven at the college level but i to me that points to like an instinct that he has like a natural feel on the defensive end and even if that doesn't necessarily result in him like blocking shots at a high clip or anything like that, I think that speaks to his ability to cover ground on the defensive end, which is going to be incredibly valuable, especially if he is the type of player that you and I are kind of like, propping him up to be someone who can kind of tween between the three and the four.

He might not be like that Robert Covington type defender who can cover up ground and be like a weak side rim protector, but maybe he could be.

I like the instincts that he shows and that natural feel for like where i can be on the defensive end to kind of toggle between blocking the shot and going back to being covered in my man i think that that's still something that i want that that i like to have in a defender even if it doesn't necessarily result in blocking shots consistently

The downside would be that Malik is really good with the ball in his hands, right? And I think him actually running pick and rolls.

He's the guy that is best at running pick and rolls with Domas.

Maybe that'll end up being a cuff, but Malik is the only one out there that actually makes life easier for Domas, right? But I also think that Malik, when it comes to him scoring, functions best as that two guard rather than the one where he has to worry about facilitating for everybody else.

In 2016, if you were just a 3 and D guy who just shot threes and finished at the rim and had no in-between skill whatsoever, I think you could very much get away with that.

Guy like Robert Covington made a career out of that and made all defense teams.

That's another guy who, you know, maybe compare Rashear to in terms of player comps.

I didn't think he did that well enough, but he did some nice things for some other guys that he had, you know, cutting along the baseline.

Robert Covington would get some easy stuff from him.

Because of that, obviously, spraying the ball out to the three-point line is J.J. Redick and Covington to knock those shots down.

I thought he could have got Joel Embiid some easier shots there when they really started to play with one another.
