Robert Amsterdam

The headline is, my travel agent saved my life.

Really? So this was written by an international lawyer named Robert Amsterdam, and he is a client of the Beigelmans, of Michael Beigelman.

And I'll just give you a little synopsis of the story.

This happened in 2005.

Amsterdam, the attorney was in Moscow and he was working on a very politically charged trial at the time.

So Michael Beigelman, his travel advisor, got some intel from that a dozen Russian security officers were on their way to arrest him at 2 a.m.

This is very dramatic, and I'm not making this up.

The newlyweds who communicated with Beigelman via text messages had barricaded themselves in a room with a hotel employee who, in an attempt to lead the couple to safety, had been shot in a spray of machine gun fire.
