In the House, there have been some efforts.

Rep. Robert Aderholt, he's an Alabama Republican, he has taken the lead on this.

His bill, which is H.R. 1772, entitled The Designation of English as the Official Language of the U.S., Act of 2025, provides Congress with a very important opportunity to actually codify into law what the president began in his executive order.

So there are people who are trying to do this and take that step.

According to published accounts, at various times, Drinkard owned a bakery, ran an auto dealership, and managed commercial property as CEO of Drinkard Development.

Congressman Robert Aderholt was one of the many state officials who acknowledged Drinkard's passing.

He mentioned that the new Lucas Cinemas in Albertville was a Drinkard development.
