Rob Ralston

So I did an interview with Dr.

Rob Ralston, who's a lecturer at Edinburgh University in public policy, and that's really about kinda the political economy of the petrochemicals industry.

He's done a lot of work on the tobacco industry as well, but he's very interested in how lobby groups have been working on plastics.

And so it's really interesting, he kind of gets behind and kinda hints at what kind of lobbying activities and influence the petrochemicals industry has h- managed to have over the plastics treaty and over plastics more generally.

Yeah.

Some kind of mass harvesting of nature often seems to be the lofty solution in the future to our current consumption patterns.

So maybe it's a good time now to move on to Rob Ralston, because he really goes into the lobbying and political economy.

And actually, I think what's quite interesting about listening to him is he puts more of a narrative around what's been going on with the petrochemicals industry and how they've actually been managing to lead on the narrative around plastics.
