Personally, I think that would have been a disaster and even the band's own members kind of agree with me.

The rumor is that then it was offered to Sophie Ellis-Bexter who Can't Get Out of My Head's other songwriter Rob Davis had written Groove Jet for but she has denied that she was ever offered the song and so it ended up with Kylie.

We're about to talk to one of the dudes from the video itself, that famous, beautiful, amazing video.

Not many people can save a half a bucket on their head for a couple of years, can they? Promoting the song around the world.

So this was on all the time.

And sometimes that can mean that it's annoying, but I think because the music video was so enjoyable and I liked the song as well, like it was... spinning around for me that was that was a bit annoying but this one I thought was great and one thing that I hadn't really thought about because you know she gets comparisons to New Order and to Kraftwerk um and someone pointed out that some of the dancers in the music videos the ones that are in red and black that's like the Man Machine um album by Kraftwerk and I was like my god yeah I'd never drawn that line between Kraftwerk and Kylie Minogue but that's pretty clever And yeah, I find it interesting because this was written by Kathy Dennis and Rob Davis from MUDS.

And another song that you have has like two quite random collaborators.

So I love those stories when it's like, yeah, some record label put these two people together and was like, yeah, put a song.

And yeah, was it like Rob Davis came up with the beat, Kathy Dennis came up with I Can't Get You Out of My Head.

And I think they said within three hours it was written.

Uh, which, yeah, I, I think this is fun.

And before that, we had Kylie's fabulous Come Into My World from the album Fever.

Like Can't Get You Out of My Head, it was composed and also produced by Kathy Dennis with her writing partner at the time, Rob Davis.

Bizarrely, Davis has a backstory too.

You'll almost certainly remember him as the guitarist way back in the 1970s for the glam rock and rockabilly group Mud.

Remember Tiger Feet? Davis was the band's wacky member, often to be seen wearing earrings and a long dress.

By a weird coincidence, Dennis and Davis actually had a different singer in mind when they wrote Can't Get You Out of My Head.

It was actually intended for Sophie Ellis-Bexter, with whom Rob Davis had worked a year earlier when he collaborated on the lyrics for the DJ Spiller track Groove Jet, which was Ellis-Bexter's commercial breakthrough.

However, for one reason or another, the song never reached Ellis Baxter and was instead redirected to Kylie, who of course made it a triumph.
