And I mean, it's so fun to remember the requests and, you know, we've had from show tunes to I had a guy ask for Tupac Shakur once, and like, uh, Broadway, and death metal, and I mean, you name it.
Monique GaryGUEST
One girl went to sleep on It Takes Two by Rob Base, and her feet were going, and she was rapping the whole time.
Kyle ConcannonHOST

Matt EastonGUEST
I'm a high school student.

Missy ElliottSOUNDBITE_SPEAKER
[upbeat music] What's the deal, y'all? This is Missy Elliott, and I hope y'all enjoying what you've been hearing so far.
Missy ElliottSOUNDBITE_SPEAKER
You know, I was sitting here thinking like, people like Big Daddy Kane, EPMD, Salt N Pepa, P.E., MC Lyte, KRS One, Rob Base, Biz Markie, Shanice, African Bambataa, all of them.
Missy ElliottSOUNDBITE_SPEAKER
The old school.
Missy ElliottSOUNDBITE_SPEAKER
A lot of them artists used to dance back then and still get respected.
Siva MarkanduGUEST
We said, "Hey, don't forget." We also teased them.
Siva MarkanduGUEST
So when I brought Rob Base Easy Rock, I didn't promote as Rob Base Easy Rock.
RyanHOST
Mm.
Siva MarkanduGUEST
My DJs would play, you know, It Takes Two, and then says, "Hey, keep listening to this," or Sunshine, you know? But we didn't say they would be up, coming up.
RyanHOST
10, 20 bucks?
Siva MarkanduGUEST
No.
Siva MarkanduGUEST
If we, if I brought Rob Base in, I only charge $5 cover.
RyanHOST
Wow.
Damien BarlingHOST
Mark S. Allen and Ebro were doing a, a, what, what, what was like a sticker stop, I guess, at the Blockbuster Video on San Juan.
Damien BarlingHOST
And I answered some question correctly, and Mark gave me the Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock record, which was cool 'cause we had a record player at the house, so I knew I could play It Takes Two and Joy and Pain.
Damien BarlingHOST
But the first tape that we bought was DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince.
Damien BarlingHOST
I remember seeing the Fresh Prince on TV for the first time, and I saw, uh, y- you know, the, the, the vibrant colors that hip-hop represented at the time.
Damien BarlingHOST
But I think that's where my love for it hit a different level.
Damien BarlingHOST
This is when the 1025 sticker was that black and white one.
Damien BarlingHOST
That's the sticker I had with my Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock record.
Damien BarlingHOST
I don't think I have that anymore.
