You want to hear my top six S we'll get to that in a second, but I know a lot of people probably want to hear that trade if they didn't catch it a couple episodes ago, but, um, Once again, I mentioned earlier that the Raptors have looked at trading RJ Barrett at different points.

And when I heard, going back a couple of years ago, that I was intrigued by at the time, because the Celtics obviously moved on from this player in the short aftermath of it.

Here's one that just came to mind, and I could be way off here.

R.J. Barrett.

You was bringing up handles with no wiggle, and the video was circulating of him trying to go by Derrick Queen, and he was hitting him with a pat, pat, pat that just absolutely went nowhere.

I've got John Collins and Kevin Porter Jr. RJ Barrett.

so weird to see him going that far.

I guess if you need a boost in points at this stage of the draft, it's not a bad point to grab RJ Barrett.

Um, I guess that's kind of it.

They do get RJ Barrett's contract off the books this year.

So that does help them.

But if Kawhi gets 60 million a year, right? Like what's, Jimmy Butler got that extension from the Warriors after signing with them.

If the Raptors, in the next 24, 48 hours say, "We're pulling out of this deal and we've acquired Demontis Sabonis," are you okay with that? It would cost you Jakob Poeltl, who's a horrible contract, and you wouldn't need him, obviously, with Sabonis around.

But RJ Barrett would go, hypothetically.

Like, this is one of those bets online where, on the apps, where you can cash out early.

You don't know the outcome.

in a multitude of areas, especially on the defensive and hustle side.

So for most GMs, like I remember this was the same conversation when like a guy like an RJ Barrett got his rookie extension with the Knicks.

Like for most GMs, you're gonna invest in that prospect and invest in be hopeful in their potential upside in reaching a much higher ceiling obviously in his case in point it's the shooting the scoring the shooting numbers right especially from three which was you know his achilles heel obviously coming out of the draft but there's still time he's 23 years old

Yeah, and the Rockets are still projecting immense amounts of growth in his game.

This year, he's making 19.5 over the next three years.

So the total value of their contracts with his buyout year at $5 million and RJ Barrett's 29.6 that he's owed this year, DeMontis Sabonis is owed about $95 million in two years.

Over the course of this contract, RJ Barrett and Jakob Pertl are owed, I think it's like $106 million.

It's negligible.

Actually, no, I think the number was $16 million difference total.

He is one of the best defensive rebounders in the history of basketball, inarguably.

He has an elite defensive trait, which is defensive rebounding.

RJ Barrett does not even have a league average trait.

And the framework is Sabonis to Toronto, Purtle and draft compensation going back to Sacramento.

But they also want RJ Barrett, and they also want him as sort of the centerpiece of this deal.

I am on the fence.

I know that's not very popular in today's sports landscape of speaking your opinion, but there are parts of me that have really fallen in love with some of the things that RJ Barrett can do.

Some of the things that not every team has, and certainly not every player possesses the ability to do.

RJ's got this knack for getting buckets.
