Riverton

You know, Crowheart is on the reservation, and it is 40 miles from anywhere.

I mean, it's 40 miles to Lander, 45 miles to Riverton.

I guess it's a little closer to the small town of Dubois, but, which is 30 miles away, so it's literally out in, out in the country.

And we have a family ranch there that my dad raised us on, and I spent all my time there until I was, you know, finishing up high school and getting ready to leave to go to the University of Wyoming as an undergraduate, and I absolutely was over the ranch at that point, right? I just didn't want to spend another day on a horse fixing fence, putting up hay.

I ended up getting a job as a psychological technician at the Indian Health Service clinic at home, at Wind River.

Worked there for a year, left that job, taught in the schools, did a lot of substitute teaching.

And you're right, right about the time this business kinda started to turn the corner, um, I got a job at Central Wyoming College in Riverton working with, with Native students and teaching a couple classes, teaching History of the Wind River Reservation and teaching...

This class was called Current Issues in American Indian Affairs.

First, first job, Wyoming.

I lived in Riverton, and then I lived in Casper, and I'm still expecting that invitation for next week, guys.

The Cowboy State Daily, which is a very prominent publication in Wyoming, said that a Riverton woman named Stephanie Watson, as we just said a second ago, found a three-foot bull snake inside her car.

She was in the bank drive-thru, you know, getting a deposit, whatever it may be, and she sees something moving around in the back seat.

But I always say it's an excuse, and we have had a really hard time recently with finding some...

It's finding the key hires that are really hard, like somebody that's with a lot of expertise at a high level in business, and they're generally not in Riverton, Wyoming.

Yeah.

Generally not.

And

that's, I think that's, I've said it several times.

I think that's part of growing an American made brand is that you've, you, you do see companies that are made in America and where you have employees in America and whatnot, give a lot back more to our communities and our country, whether it's, your community of Riverton or Lander, you know, the small towns around Wyoming, or it's more on a national scale with gold star wives and families.

Um, it's the same stuff that we try to do.

So the red, white, and blue one was a 1982 Cadillac DeVille.

And that one came off of a little ranch in Riverton.

I don't know what ranch it was.

It was just somebody was selling it, and we came and picked it up.

I'm just curious what that difference is.

Is it because of the ranching community? Like there's a kinship there? Okay, so for example, I'm in Riverton.

On election day, I went and took exit polls, Riverton and Lander both.

And then you don't see green again until you get to the Sweetwater River, more central-ish Wyoming.

And then you don't see green again until you get to like Riverton, which is right central Wyoming.

And they have a big reservoir up there that keeps those farms going.

And then you get north and you get to Cody and all of that stuff and Powell.
