Now, I know that this gentleman's a Texas Ranger, and I appreciate his investigative experience, but there's a first time for everything, sir, and truth is stranger than fiction, as you know.

I do know some of the people in the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, and I can't believe that they are that incompetent to have let something like this slide by.

Now, it turns out the LAPD had looked into Celeste way before her death.

On February 17th, 2024, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department was investigating her first disappearance and actually found David's number in her cell phone records.

So deputies called it.

David picked up and admitted that he had chatted with Celeste on either February 13th or 14th, but at this point, he's claiming that he didn't know she was a minor and he had no idea that she had been reported missing.
