RiverClan

Kids.

RiverClan are the only cats who don't shout their names.

And they look around instead with hostility.

What's their problem? I always wondered what ruffled their fur.

No, everybody, ShadowClan and WingClan are like, yeah, Toadstep, Rose Petal.

Is

RiverClan being

crappy

Like, it just happened.

RiverClan was like, oh, dang.

That sucks.

That guy's dead now.

He can't go on without her, so he is determined to retrace his steps.

He considers swimming in the river to go back, but it is too fast for even a RiverClan cat to cross, so he starts trekking along the bank to find a place to cross safely.

With every step, he is scanning the tree line for any trace of a familiar ginger pelt.

He comes across another fallen tree that's slantwise across the river, but several tail lengths separate its branches from the far bank, so not safe to cross.

At first he was surprised that the ginger tom didn't congratulate her.

Then he noticed that both cats had strong muscular back legs.

Jumping must have been SkyClan's special skill, just as RiverClan cats could swim well and WindClan cats could run fast after rapids.

Okay, so their their special skill is jumping.

No, he wouldn't, but it would've been- But she would be ostracized- Yes ...

in RiverClan.

And like we s- and what we're trying to avoid is...

They tried to like make these childrens' lives easier, but I think hiding it for so long, it's like, really didn't do them any favors, you know? Well, and also that it came out in such a traumatic way- Right ...

There was a sudden turbulence in the water, and a cat's head broke the surface, a plump silver fish gripped tightly in its jaws.

As it swam to the bank and padded out of the water, Firestar recognized Silverstream, the RiverClan cat who had fallen in love with Graystripe and died bearing his kits.

The drops of water clinging to her fur shone as brightly as stars.

Dropping the fish in front of him, she meowed, 'Greetings, Firestar.

'You're not stealing.

It's a gift.

It's not a RiverClan fish either.

You looked hungry, so I thought I would catch you some food.' 'Thank you.' Firestar didn't hesitate any longer.

Thunderpath, yes.

And then it's RiverClan's time to talk.

And RiverClan begins talking, and they are saying about how they're missing Silktail.

And Silktail was patrolling the border between the river of the ThunderClan and the thing.

And so, you know, Speckle Star, she's not accusing ThunderClan.

And I have to admit, I've fallen in love with Cinnamon Tuft.

I know it's forbidden.

I know I am a RiverClan cat and he is of the ThunderClan and we could never be together, but...

Right.

You have ThunderClan, ShadowClan, WindClan, and RiverClan.

And there's a fifth one too, right?

Yeah.

It adds so much depth.

They released four standalone volumes in this era, and the quality and themes they tackled are really worth exploring in detail.

detail.Let's start with the first release in 2020, which was A Shadow in RiverClan.

Oh, this one is great.
