Rival Schools

Hey, this is Walter Schreifels from many of your favorite hardcore bands and musical groups, Quicksand, Rival Schools, and Gorilla Biscuits, to name a few.

And you're listening to The New Scene.

Hello, everybody, and welcome to The New Scene.

No

... met Walt twice, um, once on my 50th birthday driving 800 miles to see him in New Jersey at Rival Schools, um, and once a couple of months ago again, uh, in Durham, uh, when they came through with, uh, Soul Blind.

Uh, and that's when I asked Walt to do the podcast, and he graciously said, "Yes, I'll do it."

No, I'm happy to be here, Jay.

But then we move into my second favorite album of all time.

Yeah.

Jay loves Rival Schools.

Yeah.

We sort, we sort of found the right kind of emo sort of- ... energy to meld to our songs.

And I think, and, and so anyway, I picked Rival Schools' "Use For Glue".

[rock music] Ubiquitous riff at the time.

Seeped its way into so many things, including our sound, and at least one of our, our songs.
