Ringgold County

Hi, V, then and now.

In 1930, Charles Hyde and David Vrendenburg opened a small store in Beaconsfield, a community in southwest Iowa's Ringgold County.

By early 1938, they had expanded to 15 stores, most in southern Iowa and northern Missouri.

For years, the business operated under the founders' last names or variations of supply store, coupled with the names of towns in which stores were located.
