Rigour

There's no hidden meanings.

I'll tell you what rigor means.

Rigor means that there is an expectation of individual skill development in that subject.

There's lots of ways to achieve rigor.

But if there is no test, if there is no individual accountability, if you could get an A in the class simply by showing up and tuning out and not getting in the way, other teachers in the building are going to see those things and they're not going to treat us like a real class because they know that they wouldn't be able to get away with that in their class.

So that's me and my little team.

Rita is an acronym that stands for Rigour.

and accessibility.

And they were just four principles that we found in a paper that was published from the UK actually in 2018.
