This notion of authenticity rings or echoes this – longstanding debate about what is often called false consciousness, that these folks who think that they are one thing or think that they're helping themselves are actually working against their own advantage.

I think it was Andrea Dworkin wrote a book called Right Wing – that's hard to say, Right Wing Women and about this notion of false consciousness.

How do – can someone – be falsely authentic? Can someone think they are one thing and just not know enough to know that they're hurting themselves? I mean is – does everyone get to decide their own authenticity or is there sort of an objective reality as to who and what somebody can and should be?

You know, I think there's a balance between internal and external.

Um, but yeah.

And it is recent.

their assistance With such of the Ships of the Second Squadron as were Undamaged When he Reached Hanno's division And came Into Conflict with it The Triarii at Once Took Heart Though they had had much the Worst of it And recovered Their fighting Spirit The Carthaginians Attacked Both in Front and in the Rear Were in Difficulties Finding themselves Surrounded To their surprise By the Relieving Force And giving way They began to retreat Out to see Meanwhile both Lucius Who was by this Time sailing Up and observed That the Third Squadron was Shut in Close to the shore by the Carthaginian Left Wing And Marcus Who had Now left the Horse Transports entry Arii In safety Hastened Together to the relief of this Force which was in grave Peril For the State of matters Now was just like a Siege And they would All evidently Have been lost If the Carthaginians had not Been afraid of the Ravens And simply hedged them in And Held them close to the Land instead of Charging Apprehensive as they were of Coming to close Quarters The consoles coming up Rapidly and Surrounding the Carthaginians Captured Fifty Ships with their crews A few managing to slip out Alongshore and Escape The separate counters fell out As I have Described And the final result of the whole Battle Was in favor of the Romans The latter Lost Twenty four Sail sunk And the Carthaginians More than Thirty Not a Single Roman ship with its crew Fell into the Enemies hands but Sixty Four carthagenian Ships were so captured End of chapter twenty eight Chapter Twenty Nine After this The romans Laying in a Further supply of Provisions Repairing the Capturesd And bestowing on their men the attention which their success deserved, put to sea and sailed towards Africa, reaching the shore with their advanced ships under the promontory known as the Hermaeum, which lies in front of the whole Gulf of Carthage and stretches out to sea in the direction of Sicily.

Having waited there until their other ships came up, and having united their whole fleet, they sailed along the coast till they reached the city of Aspis.

Landing there and beaching their ships, which they surrounded with a trench and palisade, they set themselves to lay siege to the town, the garrison of which refused to surrender voluntarily.

No sooner had Xantippus ordered the elephant drivers to advance and break the enemy's line and the cavalry on each wing to execute a turning movement and charge Then the Roman army, clashing their shields and spears together as is their custom and uttering their battle cry, advanced to the attack.

And if you can go one way or the other and they're both equally legitimate, and so they are, that's why they're on the political spectrum, then obviously there's no truths because the guy who's on the right and the far right believes something that's quite the antithesis of the guy on the left and the far left, right? And who has the truth? Well, obviously there's no truth.

Because trans, you know, that whole thing, man saying I'm a woman.

Yeah, that's not a political position.

Right.

That is an abnegation of truth and common sense and science and biology.

Who was it, Layla? And you wonder why I think she's practicing taqiyya when she claims to not even know what taqiyya is.

I was a bit shocked, actually, that they called me an Islamist and they, they, they say this word taqiyya, which I obviously I've ne- I've never heard.

Meanwhile, they're funneling staggering amounts of money out of the public system and screwing over the public to help their friends.

That is the right-wing playbook right now, and it is being practiced to perfection by Doug "The Grifter" Ford in Ontario.

But how we're gonna tackle the issue today is what it means for those who are the most vulnerable, because that's the other thing about these right-wing governments.

They target the weak.
