He is Dr. Chris Warren.

He's a professor of history at Brooklyn College of the City University of New York.

It's interesting because when you focus in on certain diseases, it really opens up a lens on history, on our attitudes towards illness, and on the process of scientific and medical discovery.

And that's what this book is about.
