My flagship weekly has been produced since I left the Fed.

It is a reflection of the work that I used to do for President Richard Fisher in my capacity as his advisor.

We publish at QI eight times a week, every trading day of the year in the United States.

We publish four graphs and our take on what is happening in the macro economy, how that relates to the financial markets.

It is not an everyday occurrence that six days before US voters head to the polls that you see the Fed making any kind of a move, whether it be easing or tightening.

So that would add an element of controversy.

So far, President Trump has not been critical of Kevin Warsh, but I could not see that being well-received at the White House to say nothing of the GOP incumbents who are fighting to maintain control of the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate.

And does that suggest that the Fed wanted to get one interest rate hike into the bank now and that they could then hold in October and that will give them two or three months more data to analyse the trends and make a determination about December?
