They wore clothing made of strange, unfamiliar materials, and they spoke a language that no scholar or traveler could recognize.

The villagers took the children to the home of a local landowner, Sir Richard de Calney, and the children were clearly distressed and in a state of mourning.

For days, they refused all food offered to them, despite appearing to be on the verge of starvation.

It wasn't until someone brought in freshly harvested broad beans that the children showed any interest.

I didn't know he was a knight.

He was living in the village and his name was Richard de Calne.

After a few days of completely refusing any food that was offered to them, the children were, I guess, walking with their caretakers into the market and they saw... raw broad beans which are basically kind of like lima beans from what i can tell but they call them broad beans it might be a different i don't know style of bean or whatever but they were green and these kids rushed over to this basket of raw beans and just started wolfing down these beans so that's what they started feeding them well eventually they got them leaned off of the bean diet you know and started eating people food and started dressing more like the locals and And eventually they learned how to speak, you know, the local languages and stuff.

And they were baptized.
