And we're gonna start the, today with an apology.

Don't know whether you were listening to the most recent podcast, but, uh, certain comments were passed which, uh, we understand may have caused offense to the party involved, who happens to be the local TD and Minister of State, Alan Dillon.

We have reflected on it over the past number of weeks, and we have decided that, uh, an init- an apology is probably the, uh, best course of action.

And the remarks were made by Richard Martin, one of our involved people here.

So he is going to read the apology.

On reflection, I do not believe that I maintained that standard throughout the discussion.

Like Richard O'Donoghue, I've seen an article today he'd done, and he had capping it at 170, but paying everything for the 170, we'd say the carbon tax up to 170, then paying the extra charge of the cost of fuel after 170, which would bring it to about 186 at the minute.

Now that's saving, and that's just getting rid of the carbon tax from 170 to what it goes to.

Now the government have already got their money out of the 170, we're paying the extra charge on that, and it goes so it's not costing the government anything and they're still getting the same money they were getting last year when the price of diesel was down and it's saving people more money and it and everyone it's not just the plan the we'll say the business people we're talking about here we're talking about everybody if if the cost of living for everybody and that's what people need to realize it's not just the men that's working, we'll say, as a business, it's the people that are going to work that are mainly affected.

There was a very novel suggestion, and I mentioned this a couple of weeks ago, uh, here on the program.

There was a very novel suggestion by a Limerick TD called Richard O'Donoghue.
Mick MulcahyHOST

Um, because what happens now, if the price of oil goes up, uh, the percentage that the government take in excise and VAT and whatever else they're doing, uh, in the taxation, goes up by the same percentage.

Yeah.
