Again, Manchester City were above us in both those seasons.

And my feeling is that premier league are in a really strange position right because if they win this case and the punishment is severe it's a big win versus city and it's a big win for premier league governance to show that despite all the heat on richard masters despite all the time it's taken it was worth it in the end because the maximum or near maximum number of charges of guilt were enforced with a punishment.

But we don't know the punishment yet.

And if the punishment is deemed to be too lenient, then A lot of people will say the guilt means nothing if the punishment isn't severe enough.

And that creates a whole new layer of accountability as well.

And that's my kind of convoluted answer as to why the Premier League reputation doesn't just hinge solely on whether they win or lose this case.

But for Richard Masters in particular, I think his reputation hinges on whether he wins or loses this case.

yeah i say it's a it's a huge export and i say that you know the fact that we're sat here talking about it is evidence of that um but yeah i i think it's a difficult one because i think they they need to tie somewhere tighten up and i think they have done in fairness in recent years let's not forget you know this came out you know the allegations end in 2018 um which it's sort of before this almost current era of the Premier League and Richard Masters who now fronts the Premier League he only joined the Premier League in 2019 so none of the investigation and the sort of prolongness of it has been on his watch but the actual what we're saying went on with no one knowing wasn't on his watch not to say that he would have been able to do anything differently at the time anyway but yeah so I think they have sort of clamped down in some regard but then you've still got They're all very alleged and speculatory.

I don't, again, want to get sued, but even look at Newcastle more recently.

Forget Abramovich and that.

I know he's gonna have people around him, but-

equally i think some premier league clubs realize that if they delay signing a deal for two three four years and that's the amount of time that we've had now of course every season that it takes them to delay giving more money to clubs in the efl is another year in which they keep more money themselves so it's in their best interest to prevaricate as much as they they can and that's why the progress has not been made.

I've certainly heard about this new deal in various guises from different commentators over the last few years, but then somebody in the Premier League, and it's not Richard Masters.

I think Richard Masters does as good a job as he possibly can under the pressures.

It's tending to come from clubs who are hoarding the money.

My personal view is that it will be incumbent on the independent regulator to mediate on this.

why should they have, because we're past the Premier League.

You know, so why should, why should the pot wearing be getting diminished to fight something that's basically come because of you? Richard Masters and whoever else wrote the thing.

That's one thing.
