And those were when Brooke Goldstein was talking about that there's nothing sadder than watching Jews fighting Jews.

The thing, believe it or not, that struck me the most because I've been following him for decades was Colonel Richard Kemp.

I've never seen him show, at the end of the film, the second or third time he comes on the show, such frustration with the Jewish people's failure to stand up, fight for, and defend ourselves.

There are so many of our non-Jewish allies who are putting their lives and their reputations and their sanity on the line to defend us.

I think that Brooke Goldstein is a force of nature.

Yes, she is.

I think that Richard Kemp is an incredible person.

And let me just add something.

He was chief of operations for the US forces.

And just to back up what you were saying about the IDF, He then visited Israel with the likes of Colonel Richard Kemp and another couple of people in 2014 to investigate the conflict.

They sent a whole bunch of retired generals.

And keep in mind, my father had commanded the US troops for one year, the first Australian general to command US troops in war in recent times.

I'm Ben Chertoff.

My guest today is Richard Kemp, a career British infantry officer, Belfast, the Gulf, Bosnia, Kabul, who has actually had to give the order that everyone else only argues about.

Early in our conversation, he told me about a night in Kabul.

Three years after the October 7th attacks, Israel remains on elevated security alert amid reported planning by hostile armed groups.

Retired Colonel Richard Kemp told a broadcaster that groups opposed to Israel seek any available way to attack it.

He said Iran's military had suffered considerable losses in strikes by the United States, Israel and their allies, but that Iran retained the ability to launch direct attacks or act through allies including Hezbollah and Yemen's Houthis.

Kemp pointed to the alleged attempted hijacking of a FlyDubai aircraft bound for Israel.
