He would help his partner through a, a, a difficult session, would show the way to how to play a particular bowler.

You know, he excelled against the best players.

I remember him taking on Hadlee actually in one game and playing him immaculately.

So, um, love watching him play.

Not the most refined cricketer, but just a all effort guy.

Kind of, kind of wags-ish-

I mean, it's apparently a letter, but you're outlining your credentials at the start of the letter.

They named the freaking medal for the best player in the country after you.

I think they know you're a decent cricketer, Sir Richard.

But that's by the by.

So the issue came to the boil again really late last week.

We had the stinging criticism from Sir Richard Hadlee, a legend of the game

Sir Richard Hadlee has just released a statement to RNZ that takes aim at New Zealand Cricket and the game's governing body.

Now, this is a breaking story just to hand.

But away from the field, New Zealand Cricket is navigating some significant questions about the future of the domestic game following the decision to back a new NZ20 competition rather than an offer from Australia's Big Bash, a decision that prompted an open letter from our greatest ever cricketer, Sir Richard Hadlee.

At the center of it all, a man who played 10 test matches and 31 One Day Internationals for the Black Caps, took close to 200 wickets across red and white ball cricket for New Zealand and Canterbury, and famously took 20 wickets for New Zealand at the 1999 Cricket World Cup.
