So, you know, one of the commenters on this particular article was a fellow named Richard Gilmore.

He is about to celebrate 26 years in a four-person relationship with two men and two women.

Wow.

Way to go, Richard Gilmore.

Did you know

Richard Gilmore was the grandfather on Gilmore Girls?

Think cardigans and turtlenecks, plaid skirts, Mary Jane heels.

And we can't talk about Headmaster Charleston's office without talking about Richard's home study.

It looks straight out of the Ivy League.

So as we take our Rory Gilmore reading challenge to read the books on Gilmore Girls, particularly this fall, let's explore the dark academia these characters referenced.

This is Jess's first episode.

And then when Richard visits her in Stars Hollow, season two, episode 12, it's in her drawer.

Oddly enough, later at the Stars Hollow book sale, which is season two, episode 15, Lost and Found, she buys it.

Richard, Lorelai's dad, does not die in the series, but he dies between the series and the reboot, A Year in the Life.

So he does die in canon.

So something that I loved about the setting and something that I picked up on immediately... is it set in Hartford in Connecticut me too and that's where Rory goes to Chiltern in Gilmore Girls so yeah love that for me love a Gilmore Girls reference me too

even if it wasn't intentional I was like where is Richard Gilmore when is he going to appear

I think what's interesting though is that actually it name checked Gilmore Girls at some point which i thought was really self-aware and fun

Yeah, I totally agree, and I think this episode goes so well based off of our previous episode with, like, analyzing Richard Gilmore.

And when it comes to this episode with having, like, the school project and just the dynamic, as you had mentioned, between, like, Emily and Richard, and then Richard and Rory as well, it was cool to see that play out.
