Richard Burgon

Speaking of the Corbyn era, I want to know how some of Labour's lefties are feeling about their new captain.

So I go to the Albert Dock to catch up with Richard Burgon, the MP for Leeds East.

So when we were talking last, you were saying basically you didn't think Keir Starmer would necessarily be leading Labour into the next conference if the local elections went badly.

So you're mystic Richard

But I think what's interesting as well is who's speaking at the most even-events.

It's Richard Burgon on the left.

That element of the left will feel a bit grumpy, like they always do, perpetually angry, someone once put it to me as.

Um, but also, I think some of the Starmerites.

You know, you're not coming.

He says, and he's looked back and he's got people like me and Richard Berg and Rebecca Long Bailey and Paula Barker and all the others of mainstream momentum saying, we're all coming in.

The left is coming in.

We're taking over.
