Richard Bach

I think unfinishedness may actually be one of the defining characteristics of being alive.

Because I go back to one of my favorite people, Richard Bach, and his book, Illusions.

And in it, he says, here's a test to see if what you were, I'm paraphrasing, here's a test to see if, you know, the reason you were put on earth has been accomplished.

If you're alive, it isn't.

And the other one said, oh, I would read this book constantly in bits and pieces because that's how you have to think.

And it's Eckhart Tolle's Power of Now.

And when you read that book and you start to embrace what Richard Bach calls the here and now from illusions, I'm going to go back and now compare that book because they're almost identical as far as what they're talking about.

It then begs the question, I'm going to ask you, why is there such a strong psychological need to feel like we've arrived?

Even if it is completely untrue, if you believe yourself to be limited in areas such as achieving wonderful health and happiness and earning a lot of money, that will become your truth.

As the author Richard Bach in his book Illusions wrote, argue for your limitations and sure enough, they're yours.

The law of attraction says that you are a living magnet.

and that you invariably attract into your life the people, ideas, opportunities and circumstances in harmony with your dominant thoughts.

There is another twist to all this.

There was another parallel happening in the physical.

Esther thinks that the book Illusions that was written by Richard Bach is the best book that she has ever read.

In other words, it was part of the awakening that she felt as she and Jerry were coming together.

And so we are playing with you about the word illusion.

Richard Bach wrote Illusions and Jonathan Livingston Segal was the famous thing he wrote, but he was my favorite author.

He wrote a bunch of books and I've never met the man, but Richard Bach intrigued me because for a while I was an English major.

I got my degree in English and philosophy at UC Irvine.

And then somewhere along the way, Herman Hess was interesting to me because he wrote Siddhartha.

Getting into Eastern philosophy, I think I'd want to... spend time with somebody who had the same spiritual philosophy, if you will, where it's kind of like this understanding the universe better.

I, and so that's why I think I'm enamored with, with the idea of Richard Bach because some of his books like illusions are, i still have his books around here and i read them every few years or like i said herman hess with siddhartha you know those were some great books that that i think those guys because they were authors and i read their books so many times if i could spend a day with them that would be really cool and i think that's where i would lean towards because i'd want to find out how much the real person is built into the books that i read in there how much of them is is is in what they because their books i know their books frontwards upwards back center i'd like to know how much the author the real man is compared to the to the almost autobiographical books they sometimes seem to have written because they were searching for spiritual enlightenment and they were young at the time they wrote them you know but they're in their they're in their passion of trying to find out where they fit in this universe and all that stuff and i think i would i would definitely want to be with somebody from a metaphysical standpoint and and and and spend the time talking to them about everything just the whole why we're here and what it all is and what is your definition of this and that you know and everything else
