Rhodri Davies

So what, in your own kind of words, is the Giving Record? How did this project come about and why did you get involved in it?

Well, thanks, Rodri, and it's a great privilege and a pleasure to be talking with you on this this morning.

I think the giving record arose from the idea that a lot of philanthropic activity has taken place in the UK over a long period of time with a lot of outcomes, and nobody knows much about it.

And I think, broadly, it's a big issue to try and expand philanthropy, have more and better philanthropy in this country and encourage more people to do it.

So the gathering of stories is a complicated business and takes a bit of time and dedication and resource.

So having realized that I think there was a need for it, I needed to turn to somebody who could best execute that.

And that person, of course, Rodri, is you yourself.

And so we basically, this is a small piece of philanthropy.
