And what happened was that they then cut that into two different tracks.

And the first half of it became Revolution 1 on the album.

The second half of it became the background structure for Revolution 9 as a sound collage.

And then there were further recording sessions where they sped it up a little bit, electrified it a little bit more, got rid of the shooby-doo-wops, and that became the single version.
