JonHOST
12:30
And just to rattle them off, it's Astro's Playroom, Astro Bot.
JonHOST
12:34
Demon's Souls, Spider-Man 2, Wolverine, Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, Destruction All-Stars, Returnal, Last of Us Part 1, Horizon Call of the Mountain, Helldivers 2, Ghost of Yotei, Death Stranding 2, Soros, Marvel Token, Intergalactic, and Until Dawn 2, which great games.
JonHOST
12:52
In six years time, not that many games.
JonHOST
12:54
And we are disregarding God of War and Horizon because they were PS4 games as well.
Casey Al-KaisyHOST
16:02
I mean, I think it reviewed really well, right?
David ThierHOST
16:05
Yeah, I mean, I like Returnal.
David ThierHOST
16:06
Returnal was too hard, but I liked it.
Casey Al-KaisyHOST
16:10
Both great games, and Housemarque is an amazing studio.
Casey Al-KaisyHOST
16:14
Amazing studio.
EwanHOST
57:36
Saros Zenith, um, the free update coming this year, I...
EwanHOST
57:41
It's not kind of what I w- I was hoping to see some co-op come to this, um, uh, and a mode kind of, or, like, an expansion similar to what we got for Returnal.
EwanHOST
57:50
Um-
BrodieHOST
57:52
Or co-op.
Wayne EmanuelHOST
36:54
like as you mentioned you've got a vinyl collection of sorts what i imagine a lot of that some of that video game kind of yeah yeah absolutely
Luke HebblethwaiteGUEST
37:03
yeah yeah so i mean i've got you know i'm a bit of a music nerd but yeah i probably have i'm gonna get enough about 100 video game records probably i would say um all kinds of different things i don't buy everything i tend to be quite I tend to buy things I'm like I could put this record on as a legitimate record at any time with anyone in the room and it'd be okay not be like what is this weird noise you're playing me I do have some that are specifically bought because they are weird noise so like the Returnal soundtrack which is a banger but as a record it's like here's some spooky noise you know but I enjoy that but like you know so I've got you know but like they kind of pass a test that like i can play these in front of other people and you know it'd be like people would be like what's this it's cool and you know that ranges from the sort of bigger classical um orchestral things through to some uh i guess there's some older um things like i've got outrun super hang on and uh some from that era golden axe i think as well some of the early data discs records um all of the streets of rage obviously um And then sort of a selection of things over time, just games I've liked and games I've played where I thought this soundtrack sort of stood out for me in some way.
Luke HebblethwaiteGUEST
38:09
And, you know, or people I've worked with or people I know really well.
Luke HebblethwaiteGUEST
38:12
And, you know, I just tried to piece things together over time.
MC FixerHOST
28:56
You would be like, oh, man, they've got Uncharted and Last of Us and Ratchet and Clank.
MC FixerHOST
29:02
And, you know, they come out with some of these odd games like Returnal and all these other little things that people are really excited about.
MC FixerHOST
29:08
Saros came out.
MC FixerHOST
29:09
Nobody cared.
Adriana X. JacobsGUEST
16:27
Um, so I think there if, if the player is open to that, um, influence, I think the, the s- the, the slowing down or trying to match the pace, um, is really fascinating.
Adriana X. JacobsGUEST
16:38
But I've also watched players, um, play Returnal, which is one of my favorite games and has had an enormous, um, influence, um, on, on my approach to, to narrative design.
Adriana X. JacobsGUEST
16:52
Um, there's, uh, there are a lot of t- you...
Adriana X. JacobsGUEST
16:55
When you enter this, like, house, um, that pops up every once in a while, there are a lot of books that have, like, short stories or, like, excerpts that you can read.
Adriana X. JacobsGUEST
17:44
I mean, you can try to, you can choose to force engagement, like the screen locks and they can't leave unless certain amount of time passes.
Adriana X. JacobsGUEST
17:54
But I think we all know that, you know, how, uh, alienating and, and punishing this is for, in certain kinds of games.
Adriana X. JacobsGUEST
18:01
Like, I think a heavy combat game, like a third-person bullet hell shooter like Returnal maybe can't quite get away with it.
Adriana X. JacobsGUEST
18:09
Um-
Michael HannonHOST
19:47
Uh-huh.
Michael HannonHOST
19:49
Is Dungeon and Crawler better than Returnal? Very similar games here.
Paul SmithHOST
19:55
Yes, the most similar games, one might say.
Michael HannonHOST
19:58
Yeah.
Michael HannonHOST
20:01
I don't even know how you compare.
Paul SmithHOST
20:03
This is going to be a decision for you, I think.
Paul SmithHOST
20:07
For me, I think Klaue goes above Returnal.
Paul SmithHOST
20:13
Just on the level I enjoyed it, the ease it was to sit down and put some time into it.
David NewmanGUEST
42:17
And, like, the way that you've talked about it has made me very intrigued.
David NewmanGUEST
42:21
Um, I would love to play Returnal but it sounds like you don't really need to play Returnal to play Soros? Um-
Scott ClarkHOST
42:26
No, they're not related at all.
David NewmanGUEST
42:27
Okay.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.HOST
12:55
Yeah, I, I, I agree with you as far as the disillusioned feeling.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.HOST
13:00
And I think early, early on in the generation, we were in such a strong place when we get Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, uh, Returnal, God of War: Ragnarok, Spider-Man 2.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.HOST
13:12
I think right now we're really feeling the effects of a lot of bad decisions, uh, when we're talking about the live service push, and when we're talking about studios getting shut down, and all these different things, right? We're...
Blessing Adeoye Jr.HOST
13:25
We have such a gap of games that should've came out that didn't come out, um, because instead of working on another remake, Bluepoint was working on a God of War multiplayer game, and then that didn't pan out.
RJGUEST
77:22
for sure.
RJGUEST
77:23
But if your whole game is designed around being a challenge, which Returnal and Seros is, and then you make these accessibility options to where you slow down the gameplay to make it easier for you, why are you even picking up that game at that point?
MikelHOST
77:42
True.
MikelHOST
77:43
That's true.
