Retrosheet

[upbeat music] Welcome to the Classic Baseball Radio Clubhouse, a chance to step back from the hectic pace of the game and take time to look at the history of baseball.

I'm Ewan Spence, and in this bonus episode, I'm joined by Jay Wigley, author of the book How Retrosheet Saved Baseball.

We'll be talking about this important online reference for baseball history, one that Classic Baseball Radio uses extensively.

We'll also talk about how Jay became interested in the history of the game, his contributions to Retrosheet, and why he documented it all in his new book.

Let's welcome him to the clubhouse.

[upbeat music] Joining me now in the Classic Baseball Radio Clubhouse is Jay Wigley.

You know, biographical details beyond, you know, place of birth, and height and weight, and that sort of thing.

Uh, you didn't have much of that available to you, uh, until the internet came along.
