Ecological restoration

So a study, this was just published in Science Daily, actually just a few days ago as I record this, a couple of weeks ago as I record this.

There's a paper published in Restoration Ecology by Carl Say in the UK.

who had a two hectare field, which is about five acres for you, the metrically challenged out there for the, mostly just my US listeners, which is most of you.

So two and a half hectares or two hectares is about five acres.

As part of our introduction to Kauaki's work, I'd like to share a story.

But we are joined today by Jared Rosenbaum, uh, who's a botanist, a certified ecological restoration practitioner, and co-owner of Wild Ridge Plants, and also an author.

It's like the exact same system in a lot of way.

It's sunny, it's grassy, it's, it's a proto meadow, and it's so poised, and in a way it's so easy.

And I, I was teaching a program about y- you know, meadows in the northeast and ecological restoration and so on, and I, I stumbled upon something that I found really compelling, which is that the most biodiverse place on earth at small spatial scale.

So we're talking like, you know, look between your two feet spatial scale.
