That sounds awful, and I don't know why you would play those games.

I'm typically not somebody who plays a lot of scary video games in the horror genre, Really, the only things that have leaned into that for me would be Control and The Last of Us games.

The chunk jump scare in Requiem is kind of funny.

There's loads of stuff in Resident Evil 7 like that, where it's scary, but Resident Evil 7 is goofy, so you kind of laugh about it afterwards.

Obviously, there are notable exceptions along the way, but in terms of that comedy... element to some of the horror.

It worked for me personally, but I do get all takes on it.

And I think, as I've said time and time before, it's fine to have new things.

It's fine for the series to try new stuff and see new directions.

We saw how much the series had a resurgence when Resident Evil 7 came out.

And then they started to reinvent and go more horror driven.

That's when we got Resident Evil 7, which is first person, which is movie also kind of.

and if you guys if you guys start if you guys ever decide to start playing a resident evil game out of the blue you don't need any history start with resident evil 7

yeah it's like its own in a way its own contained thing

it's first person it's not it's not over the shoulder like all the other games are and it's scary as fuck okay it's like texas chainsaw it's scary as fuck man

in the first act, it kind of feels like how Resident Evil 7... and eight feels in terms of the first person so you get a lot your first person like down the barrel of the gunshots in the first act

and the resident evil seven is the one with the family right okay yeah because it's the dinner table too i've seen that

yeah and i think it's like that isolation that he's alone and it almost feels like he is learning in trauma and And that's exactly how Ethan is.

Ethan's just a normal person as well in Resident Evil 7.

He's a little bit more versed to what's cracking off in 8.

But his isolation makes you think, fuck me, I'm just a normal guy.

Yes, I can block with my forearms up in an axe, but he...

But... you know we don't we don't see her and that's fine because she doesn't play a major role she's just there for their little thing and stuff and then other actors that are in the film they play their roles as they should and that's it you don't have to really go into it and and it's really the atmosphere the atmosphere they he nailed perfectly of resident evil going through dark corridors there's moments where there's a first person first person mode at certain points sometimes which i thought was actually pretty great um but yeah he definitely took cues from a lot of stuff in the video games he took cues from resident evil 7 and village with the first person stuff he took stuff from the regular video games with the guns and the gunshot shell case you know and stuff i'm like oh the room with the

bag like even the uh even the bag that he was carrying like everything like there are so many very, very small details.

Some are like you can't miss, but some of the details in it are so reference heavy.

There are things in Resident Evil 1 remake and Resident Evil 2 remake that kind of connect them, that don't connect them to the originals.

And then quickly made Resident Evil 3 remake, Resident Evil 4 remake, and somewhere, I forget the exact time, but somewhere in between those remakes, Resident Evil 7 came out.

It was a soft reboot of the original timeline from the original games.
