I- if you hadn't been in the States in the late '90s or early 2000s, you weren't really aware of the, the, the sort of, I don't know, second golden age, whatever you wanna call it, but, like, this, you know, the, the, the golf design trend that was emerging and the, the v- very much more craftsmanship, you know, oriented golf courses that were, um, that were being put into the ground.

So, you know, Renaissance Club was my first chance to see that and, uh, to meet a few of the guys, you know, especially Don Placek was great.

He kinda took me out and showed me around the project.

And, uh, just to, just to see what they were doing, to see the level of craftsmanship on that property was a game changer for me because frankly, having not spent that much time in the States before that, the new golf courses that I'd seen were pretty disappointing.
