He stopped, he looked around, walked a little bit, and he stopped again, looked around.

I lift up my slug shotgun.

I took one shot.

He jumped up in the air, came down, went over the hill.

So I threw it back in the car and just went and dealt with it.

You know, one of the things I liked about the county is I got my Remington 870.

Right.

And I got several boxes of buckshot and several boxes of slugs.

And we had the Mini-14 ram trifle.

And after that one warning, light them up.

I raised my shotgun.

I had a 12-gauge Remington 870 loaded with 3-inch copper-plated lead slugs.

So long story short... you cannot run shorty shells in Remington 870 actions.

They won't cycle.

You pump it and it flips up.

Windmaster, huh? I've always been a big fan of those.

Is that what you're still using for turkeys? I still use a Remington 870, but it's not the same gun.

Old guns are probably the biggest example.

Um, you might be a southern hunter if you own an old rifle or shotgun that's worth maybe 400 bucks, and you wouldn't sell it for four grand because that was grandpa's gun or dad's or the first gun you ever killed a deer with, and there is absolutely somebody watching right now whose family has an old 30-30, 30-06, 270, Remington 870, or an old single shot shotgun that has killed an unbelievable amount of game.

Finish worn off, stock scratched all to hell, bluing's mostly gone, probably hasn't been cleaned properly since Dale Earnhardt was alive.

Still works, and there is always an older hunter standing nearby looking at everybody's new equipment and saying, "You boys don't need all that fancy crap," which is another one.

What kind of shotgun do you use?

Oh, it's just a Remington 870 pump with an Indian Creek, I think .67 choke.

I'm shooting I think 3.5 TSS and sometimes that, um, Apex number four.

Some expensive loads right there.
