Pete FryHOST
21:33
It seems longer because it's just all highway and it's all road.
Pete FryHOST
21:37
And I didn't get any tickets on the way here.
Travis HarringtonGUEST

speaker_5AUDIENCE
10:58
don't think so.
Evan BrayHOST
10:01
What is it? I see a text on the phone line saying, you know, I hear you talk about the deed in Saskatoon.
Evan BrayHOST
10:07
Don't think Regina's free of problems, says Paul.
Evan BrayHOST
10:10
Jason, Regina's got its problems as well.
Evan BrayHOST
10:13
Right now, there's talking about expanding paid parking around hospitals, which I think would be devastating for so many people, whether you're going to visit a loved one in the hospital or for staff who don't have room in a parking lot to park and are forced to park in residential areas nearby.
Evan BrayHOST
10:30
bugged by the notion of potentially expanded paid parking in Regina.
Evan BrayHOST
10:36
Jason, thanks for the call.
Evan BrayHOST
10:37
Back to the phone line and back to the topic of deed in Saskatoon.

I, I've said it before.
Evan BrayHOST
5:57
I actually said it on my commentary today that I remember where I was working as a frontline police officer in Regina and we were just, I was just getting my radio.
Evan BrayHOST
6:05
So I hadn't officially started my shift.
Evan BrayHOST
6:07
It was just before my shift was supposed to start.

TomAUDIENCE
12:52
We didn't know what the heck was going on.
Evan BrayHOST
12:54
I think that that's part of the sobering part of this, Tom, is that there were so many questions.
Evan BrayHOST
12:59
I mean, I remember people questioning that day in Regina, Saskatchewan.
Evan BrayHOST
13:04
Are we going to see a terrorist attack? Like, no one, of course, you know, you reflect back on that and it seems like No, we're not seeing a terrorist attack in Regina, but I get it.
Doug FalconerHOST
30:02

I said, who forced you to watch it? Right, yes.
Uncle MikeGUEST
51:27
And so, you know, Sean and Jody, and they are from Regina.
Uncle MikeGUEST
51:30
They do go to games somewhat often and obviously tune in, you know, as most of the Saskatchewan population does, I guess.
Uncle MikeGUEST
51:39
They like their riders.
Uncle MikeGUEST
53:31
Last year or two years ago? Last year.
Dave PortnoyADVERTISER
53:32
Last year? Mm-hmm.
Uncle MikeGUEST
53:33
And then I've gone to a Ryder game with Heisler in Regina because he got free tickets.
Uncle MikeGUEST
53:38
And it's like, oh, we just happen to be there for the weekend.
Neil WeisenselGUEST
6:26
And then wrote a piece with my partner Rachel, who wrote the lyrics for a beautiful piece for a women's choir here in Winnipeg that led to the Sarah Svendsen commission.
Neil WeisenselGUEST
6:36
And then now I just finished a piece for pipe organ and trumpet, uh, Valerie Hall from Regina and Dean McNeil at U of Sask who heard my pieces, heard the choral piece last year in Kitchener-Waterloo at the Oregon Conference, and was like, "Oh, I think we want you to write something for you." So now it's like, so now purely instrumental music, I'm like, oh my God, I'm realizing how much of a crutch, I don't think that's quite the right word, but that a libretto is or lyrics are for me because when it's like writing absolute music, like what is it about? Like, so I wrote the piece and I played it for Rachel, and she said, "What is it about?" And I was like, "I have no answer to that question." I think the meaning is in the ear of the listener.
Neil WeisenselGUEST
7:20
So writing absolute music is kind of a trip.
Neil WeisenselGUEST
7:22
It's like it takes a while to figure out what it's going to be when you're just literally starting from nothing.
Rob KarhukangasGUEST
45:44
And it's the band's highest charting single, hit number nine in Canada.
Rob KarhukangasGUEST
45:49
And my last one, these guys are from Regina, Saskatchewan, Into Eternity and a song called Shallow.
Rob KarhukangasGUEST
45:58
I first got attracted to these guys when I was in the CD store and saw a promo sticker on their Dead or Dreaming album, which this song is from.
Rob KarhukangasGUEST
46:06
that said that this band was a mix of the Florida band Death and Dream Theater.
