Reggie Bannister

My favorite movie of this year so far.

Brett, Reggie Bannister, RIP King.

Ooh, because he shows up randomly in like a lot of little bit parts.

Because of course there's the five Phantasm movies.

Yes.

Three?

This is one where you could have added your extra one like you did with Reggie Bannister.

You forgot Scream 6 for a total of four.

The young kid and then the ice cream dude.

Reggie Bannister.

Yeah, Reggie.

Yeah.

Okay.

So this guy's name is Bill Thornberry, the actor, and he actually wrote this song.

There's a great video on YouTube of these two guys playing the whole thing on a stage in a bar somewhere.

Now, you know Reggie actually was a musician and played in bands.

This person, not so much.

Well, it sounded like they started filming this thing in 2008 because there was little webisodes about Reggie.

You can tell.

Filmed on his own ranch.

It explains why Reggie looks kind of younger and then fucking old

in parts of it.

There's parts, I mean, I don't hate this movie.

Look at his stupid little face.

We follow the first film's protagonist, Mike Pearson, who's recently been released from a mental institution.

He recruits his number one guy, Reggie, and some new friends in an effort to defeat the evil of the infamous Tall Man.

Yeah, so I've seen the original Phantasm once, and this is my first time seeing this movie.

I had a little trouble following this film, and I couldn't even remember if these were the same characters from the first movie, but apparently Mike and Reggie are from the first movie.

Is that correct?

That

And I had seen it, though, a few years before that.

But apparently, I had forgotten a lot.

And, you know, we had this idea not too long ago.

You know, we just lost legendary horror actor Reggie Bannister, who everybody knows and loves from the Phantasm franchise.

And we got to thinking, you love Phantasm and I love Phantasm.

So why not for Halloween we talk about the whole Phantasm franchise?

That's my opinion.

I do like them all.

But the second one is important because it's kind of where Reggie Bannister becomes kind of the main character in a way.

Yeah, and I don't know how it all shifts around in the later sequels, but yeah, you're right.

Another one built entirely on imagery with not much explanation and probably the best for it.

And rest in peace, Reggie Bannister, who passed away a few weeks.

Rest in

peace.

Yeah.

Reggie Bannister.

Yeah.

Yeah.

I couldn't do it.

So I said to my girlfriend, "You know what? Let's just pick, like, three batches of films you've never seen before." And so I'm gonna subject her to, in honor of the late, great, recently passed Reggie Bannister, the Phantasm saga.

She has never seen it before.

Ooh.

...

Reggie Bannister shows up in it, too.

Uh, another one that's really difficult to find.

But guess what? I found it.

1976, as we said, directed by Don Coscarelli, starring Dan McCann, a Michael Baldwin, who everybody knows as Michael, as Mike from Phantasm.

Mm-hmm.

Reggie Bannister shows up as one of the teachers in here.

Um, and then some, uh, Kenneth F. Jones shows up brief- briefly as Mr. Soupy.
