the form her rebellion takes is always it's very fascinating to me because i mean in some of the materials you all sent over and it's commented on in the documentary lost angel but i mean she was like basically like holding up liquor stores and like legitimately dabbling in crime and the newspaper articles describe it as like kick crimes like just getting getting kicks and one of them remarks that she's from a relatively well-off family as well which indicates i guess maybe the level of like financial stability that might have existed but at the same time it's so clear from all of her biography that there was no such thing as stability in in her life or in her inner life at this point and i always think about her getting sent off to reform school and that being where she talks about this on stage a lot that's where she sort of learns gospel licks Pentecostal licks in reform school and I just think it's so fascinating to me how closely it parallels Sinead O'Connor's life she talks about the same thing kind of growing up and then getting sent to a reform school where a nun gives her a guitar you know and it's this thing of like these young women finding their voice after basically sort of attempting to define themselves as outlaws, you know, which is a, which is like a theme that haunts Judy's work from, from there on, you know, like she talks about the vigilante or, you know, the Ridge Rider or all these like phantom characters.

So anyway, yeah, I just, it's her, her young life compared to the average asylum record singer songwriter who, you know, probably grew up in like, art school and you know whatever like she actually she really did live like off the grid

Yeah, I mean, I think when I first encountered her music and before I really knew much about her, I was I had difficulty placing her religious inspiration.
